Web Page Admin Info
On this page we attempt to step the web site administrators and other interested parties through the decision making process related to these calendars and perhaps inject a bit of humor along the way...
Q: What if our club is already using a calendar app (like Google Calendar, WordPress Plug-in, Jevents etc etc) - do we need to change anything?
A: Awesome that your data is already in a calendar tool rather than text-based. As long as we can subscribe to the data feed and get the data automatically we are good to go. However, we do recommend reviewing the data entry guidelines for the schedulers and adjusting accordingly so that all the Regional data looks consistent - specifically the event name being formatted as ST, City - Event Name - Round # (Example: WY, Esterbrook - 34th Medicine Bow Cup - Rounds 3&4)

Q: We don't have a calendar tool now and would like to move to one but do we have to use the TeamUp calendar you've built?
A: No, you can use any calendar tool that you like (Google et al.) including creating and managing your own stand-alone TeamUp calendar (very easy to set up BTW). We just want to connect to get the data. The calendars we've pre-built for your club are to demonstrate what is possible and make adoption as easy as possible. One caveat to building your own, is if you share events with another club then you'd likely want all the clubs in the same calendaring system. The Central Region is a perfect example where AVTA, MATT, MITA, NEOTT, NTTA, MWTA all share the Central Regional Trials Championship (CRTC) calendar thus they are lumped together and TeamUp is the perfect tool for that. But if your club is stand-alone and wants to walk its' own path that works too. Kind of a "brexit" for trials calendars :-) We're happy to consult on options.

Q: What if we don't want to make any changes at all and keep using a stand-alone text-based schedule?
A: The technology part is easy - the people part not so much. First we'll retreat to our safe space, chillax for awhile, probably go ride somewhere and upon returning delete your data from the Regional calendar as there are no resources to keep your data current. Perhaps we can revisit again next year.

Q: Okay so we've decided to use the pre-built TeamUp calendar, just what is involved with implementing that on my current web page (WordPress site users skip this and see the next question/answer)?
A: Depending on how your current site works and assuming you want the new calendar to work the same way, you will do one of two things. Either way it takes about 15 minutes (or less) to implement on your site.
1) If you currently have a link to open the club schedule on your web page, then you will replace the current link with a new link to open your calendar. We'll provide you with your club's specific URL but here is a sample of what you'll get. This URL allows read-only access to the Mid-America Trials Team club calendar
https://teamup.com/ksr595m2hunccja7yp?title=MATT%20Events&showProfileAndInfo=1&showSidepanel=0&showAgendaHeader=1&showAgendaDetails=0&showYearViewHeader=1
2) If you have a text-based schedule displaying on your web page, then you will replace that schedule with an iFrame command to embed the new calendar into your web site. It is the same URL as above but with some iframe code wrapped around it.
<iframe src="https://teamup.com/ksr595m2hunccja7yp?title=MATT%20Events&showProfileAndInfo=1&showSidepanel=0&showAgendaHeader=1&showAgendaDetails=0&showYearViewHeader=1" width="100%" height="800px" style="border: 1px solid #cccccc" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Either way, if you implement the calendar with the side panel closed by default (showSidepanel=0) then you will likely want to provide a separate link to the Regional Calendar so your users can easily access that. See neott.com for an example.
Boom you are done - the event scheduler gets an email with the URL that allows edit rights in order to maintain the schedule data going forward. All scheduling edits are automatically rolled up into the Regional Calendar.

Q: We use WordPress, how do I install and configure the TeamUp plug-in?
A: If you are on the Business version or higher of WordPress, click here for the TeamUp support guide for the WordPress plug-in. If you are on the Personal or Premium package then you will configure TeamUp using iFrame command similar to a regular web-page you just may have to play with the settings a little bit more.

Now, if you're the type that really really wants to look under the covers at what all is going on in the TeamUp URL then this bit is for YOU, otherwise go do something fun like most anything else besides reading this.
Q: So what's going with all the parameters in the URL?
https://teamup.com/ksr595m2hunccja7yp?title=MATT%20Events&showProfileAndInfo=1&showSidepanel=0&showAgendaHeader=1&showAgendaDetails=0&showYearViewHeader=1
A: Let's break it down and take a look see:
The above settings are the basic ones that are set for your site based on how your current schedule is presented on your web page.
There are literally dozens of parameters to custom build the exact layout if you want more customization than what is provided.
If you want to customize the URL you can go to https://teamup.com/embed and insert the URL you want to configure (in this case, https://teamup.com/ksr595m2hunccja7yp) then you get a wysiwyg editor that allows you to makes changes and preview exactly how the calendar will look. Once everything is set the way you want it then copy \ paste the URL and the iFrame codes and implement them to your web site.
While the TeamUp embed wysiwyg tool has a lot of parameters built into it it doesn't have EVERYTHING. Soooooo if for sommme reason you need even more options then the full list of parameters and documentation is here. If you are still reading and like what you see then you're in the deep end now Jones. Perhaps you have a future as a Regional Calendar Site Admin? We can make that happen - the pay and benefits are awesome!

https://teamup.com/ksr595m2hunccja7yp?title=MATT%20Events&showProfileAndInfo=1&showSidepanel=0&showAgendaHeader=1&showAgendaDetails=0&showYearViewHeader=1
A: Let's break it down and take a look see:
- teamup.com - the hosting web site
- ksr595m2hunccja7yp - is the unique system generated security key code (in this case "Read Only - MATT")
- title = a custom title for the local schedule
- showProfileAndInfo = 1 (shows ProfileAndInfo in the upper right hand corner) set to 0 (zero) to hide ProfileAndInfo
- showSidepanel = 0 (hides the sidepanel when opening the calendar), set to 1 to show the sidepanel when opening
- showAgendaHeader = 1 (shows the DateRange, GroupBy and Details options in the LIST view), set to 0 to hide them
- showAgendaDetails = 0 (hides the details in LIST View), set to 1 to show the details in the LIST view
- showYearViewHeader = 1 (shows the NumberOfMonths selection in the YEAR view), set to 0 to hide
The above settings are the basic ones that are set for your site based on how your current schedule is presented on your web page.
